After an interesting start to the morning, I was heading to the Meridian to go to one of the café there and look at the market.
Name: Potpourri Vegetarian Cafe
Address: 97 Stuart Street, Central Dunedin, Dunedin 9016
Website: https://www.facebook.com/potpourrivegetariancafenz

As is traditional in Dunedin at the moment I could not get there as the road was being dug up. After turning around, there was a park outside Potpourri (and the fabric store) so it would be rude to not go there.

Of course I had no coins and the machine would not accept card. Found 10c coin and was willing to risk a ticket.

Went in to the café and had great service and more of a range than I was expecting. I had thought it was a vegan café, but it was more of a vegetarian café which meant it had cheese scones and Nighthawk was able to get a cow milk coffee.

The food was very nice – heated up with a choice of either butter or margarine and the cost was about $22.90. Definitely had the café feel to it and would be a likely spot to meet up with friends. Only downside is that parking is at a bit of a premium but generally I would consider it a spot to go when you are already in town, rather than a destination.
