Today on the Facebook machine I posted a standard picture of a cup of coffee, and commented "Where are we today...???" there were a few guesses, but no correct answer.

Name: The Perc Cafe
Address: 142 Stuart Street, Central Dunedin, Dunedin 9016
Website: http://www.perc.co.nz/

We have tried to go here in the past but I really hate waiting in line and queue's so previously we just went to the next cafe. However today went a little earlier. It was still busy enough but no queue and a few free tables to sit at. The Perc had a pretty good range of cabinet food from sausage rolls to scones, muffins, quiche etc to the menu with soup of the day, eggs benedict bacon buttie, french toast all in one breakfast or just some fries...

Today was just a sausage roll for both us and our normal coffees. Find a seat at one of the larger tables sharing it with another couple we waited for our coffee...  it was pretty quick to be totally honest and not a bad flat white.

It wasn't to long of a wait for our sausage rolls, which came with a side salad and side of sauce or chutney or something I always get told off for not calling it the right thing, however that being said it I called tomato sauce "Navy Gravy" so there is that. laughing

The sausage roll was not your standard bulk buy sausage roll and was most likely made in house. Was pretty tasty. However it was heated in the microwave which was a bit of a let down meaning the pastry wasn't crispy and flacky... it turned the pastry into a stodgy pastry... and while some people like that there are others that don't...

Sausage Roll and side salad

The price was up there at $30.00 neat for 2 coffees and to sausage rolls, however as stated the sausage roll did come with a salad and chutney and the coffee was a semi-decent size. The staff were friendly enough and were pretty busy.

The Perc is a place you would say to your friends lets meet up there for a coffee and have a chin wag and has that Cafe atmosphere and culture we keep going on about, however when it is busy you may feel like you are being rushed and while we didn't get that feeling today I can see it being like that if it was really busy like what we have seen in the past.
