Here is what I want to know. How strong of a stance is the new current Labour government going to be on breaches of our EEZ with reports  Chinese fishing vessels in New Zealand's EEZ. With Labour and their cosying up to CCP and China (to be fair so was National)  there are reports that Chinese fishing vessels were fishing in our EEZ during the election campaign.

Now before we go too far here, I do want to stress I don't know how accurate those reports actually are or were. So do take that with a grain of salt.

But, even if they are not as accurate as claimed there have been Chinese fishing vessels that have been breaching different EEZ's around the world and strip fishing the area including targeting endangered species. From the South China Sea, Philippines to the  Galápagos Islands towards Peru's territorial waters in the Pacific Ocean, as well as Japan and many smaller pacific ocean nations and it is only a matter of time they truly encroach New Zealand waters.

Take this report with a grain of salt... first of all computer generated voice... arrrgh.

There are reports that various coast guards from around the world have been shooting at chinese fishing vessels to ward them off and the chinese vessels just ignoring the warning shots. Then the coast guard actually firing at the fishing vessels, some causing the vessels to sink and posible reports of the fisherman being killed in the exchange. There are also reports of the Chinese vessels shooting back at the coast guard with various small arms fire. Various reports of arrested fishing vessels and ten destroying them.

Oh silly me, "money" sorry I won't ask that again... but should I?

The reports are that some chinese vessels have been fishing around the Kermadec Islands and many crossing deeper in to the NZ's EEZ. If these reports are true, how strong of a stance is New Zealand going to take with stubborn chinese posturing? Will we just roll over and ignore it all or will we defend our waters and resources and what is ours.

I also want to know why the mainstream media have not really picked up on any of this especially the vessels and not reporting it to the New Zealand's general public? Especially the belligerence posturing of the fishing vessels in the SCS where the Chinese coast guard has been pushing out local fishings from various country's from their local fishing grounds. The latest one was with Japan.

Why is New Zealand cosying up to China, why are we turning a blind eye... Oh wait sorry follow the money. It is the CCP or Chinese Communist Party, in that case why are we actually dealing with communists China and not North Korea, or at the time during the cold war Russia. Both countries are Socialist Communist states, both are lead by a dictator, and yes Xi Jingping is as much as a dictator as Kim Jong-un is. Both states are authoritarian socialism states and oppress their people,  and both states have human rights issues, both states act belligerently to its neighbours, both are corrupt and yet we happily trade with one of them. Why is that?

Oh silly me, "money" sorry I won't ask that again... but should I?

Not only are the fishing vessels invading various other countries EEZ's but the carelessness of various Chinese businesses especially in our pacific nations ie; Samoa, Fiji, Cook Islands etc... From building a channel through a reef with out consent or governmental approval, to steal private land off locals. Australia is slowly starting to push back, when will New Zealand, push back as well.

All New Zealand as done is stopped a extradition treaty with Hong Kong over the Chinese Security law and that is not a good thing. While we haven't banned Huawei, projects have been cancelled and now the major telecommunications companies in New Zealand are going with Ericsson or Nokia for the technology.

However, New Zealand is being influenced by China with money being flashed in front. We are a signaturee of the (meaning agree in principle) China belt and road initiative, which if we are not careful will backfire on us. Personally I want New Zealand to leave it.

Don't get me started on the human Rights Issues in China... and China's belligerent behaviour towards it's neighbours, India, and at times even Russia, Tibet, Mongolia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the uighur people of China, religious freedoms, the bad business deals, Debt trap, wolf warrior tactics... With the world slowly becoming dependant on China, and with the CCP virus... oh I am sorry the Covid-19 outbreak, has this taught the world and more importantly New Zealand to not depend so heavily on one nation or import/exports. We need to;

  1. Diverse our imports and exports. There are other countries in the world the can offer the same kind of deals.
    1. Not relying on a single country for your goods and services. Don't have all your eggs in the one basket.
  2. We most definitely need to bring much of our manufacturing back to New Zealand.
    1. Not only for being a self sustained country if another pandemic happened,
    2. Not relying on imports as much,
    3. More jobs, and industry for the country as a whole,
    4. Our exports would grow,

So I ask again, how long is New Zealand going stay quiet and not openly talk and do something about China and it's belligerence in general. Yes we are a small nation with a small population, and even smaller military, but we have always stood up to what is wrong, we have always stood our ground. We don't like being backed into a corner... and that is where we slowly are being backed into.

I have been saying for over 20 years this is what the next wars will be fighting over food, water and natural resources, and with China... and so it begins.

What are we as a country going to do, roll over and say but we can not a fford a trade war... or are w going to diverse and stand up and say enough is enough.

While the world is concentrating on the CCP Virus and budgets being cut to fight it, China is starting to push it's agenda on the world. But I also want to point out this has been going on for years, with Chinese fishing vessels ignoring international laws and recocognising other countries EEZ's. China appears to do nothing to stop this... and if we are not careful a full confrontation will happen.

I have been saying for over 20 years this is what the next wars will be fighting over food, water and natural resources, and with China... and so it begins.

While this part I have to say does not really envolve New Zealand, but with Brexit and France of fishing rights in UK waters after the final stamp on Brexit December 31. But it shows fighting over resources food... But I will say in this case it is more about money, and peoples livelihoods.
