Numbering up... All our aircraft have a unique serial number. An important step in the construction of our new C-130J-30 Super Hercules fleet is allocating tail numbers, which will have the numbers NZ7011-NZ7015.
Broken down this means:
➡️ NZ – the prefix for NZDF
➡️ 7 – denotes that this is a transport aircraft
➡️ 0 – this is the type number, aircraft of different variants or models use the same type number
➡️ 11 – 15 – are the sequential tail numbers. Different blocks of tail numbers are allocated to distinguish between variants or models of the same aircraft

Serial Numbers previously allocated to other RNZAF transport aircraft include:
➡️ NZ7001 to NZ7005 | C-130H(NZ)
➡️ NZ7620 to NZ7629 | Andover C.1
➡️ NZ7940 to NZ7942 | Cessna 421C Golden Eagle
➡️ NZ7271 to NZ7273 | Boeing 727
➡️ NZ7571 to NZ7572 | Boeing 757
➡️ NZ7121 to NZ7124 | Beechcraft Kingair B200PL
