There is one new case of COVID-19 in managed isolation, and no new cases in the community.

This brings the total active cases to 71.

All close contacts of the three border-related cases have tested negative, the Ministry of Health confirmed in a statement.

Of the returnees that left the Pullman Hotel between January 9 and January 24, 332 out of 352 have tested negative and one infant is not required to test.

The Ministry of Health will be following up on the remaining 17 people.

On Friday, 7871 tests were processed.

Pullman managed isolation requirements

New requirements for guests and staff at the Pullman managed isolation facility have come into effect.

The main changes for returnees are:

  • After having had their 11/12-day test, they will be required to stay in their rooms until they get a negative test result and are advised they can depart the facility.
  • Returnees departing the Pullman will be required to have a day 5 post-departure test and stay at home until a negative test result is returned.
  • If they become symptomatic following their departure from the Pullman they need to self-isolate and get a test.
  • Returnees are required to wear a mask when departing the facility or going for their day 5 test.

NZ COVID Tracer app

NZ COVID Tracer has 2,535,581 registered users.

Poster scans have reached 164,798,629 and users have created 6,778,458 manual diary entries.

"It's more important than ever that people keep a record of where they've been and do not go out if unwell," a Ministry of Health spokesperson said.

"We continue to strongly encourage people to continue to scan using the NZ COVID Tracer app and turn on Bluetooth tracing in the app."

Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield said on Friday there are no restrictions on travel for the weekend but urged Kiwis to remain vigilant.

"Please remember to keep up the momentum and scan, scan, scan."
