The crew of HMAS Hobart used a replenishment-at-sea exercise to pass gifts to the crew of the Royal New Zealand Navy’s newest ship, HMNZS Aotearoa, in a show of camaraderie.

Navy’s guided missile destroyer rendezvoused with Aotearoa off the coast of Sydney on March 1.

A Destiny Church sign has raised concerns those seeking a COVID-19 test might be put off.

A testing station run by the Counties-Manukau District Health Board is in the Destiny Church car park on Druces Rd, Wiri.

Next to it is a digital sign which reads: "Don't forget the vaccine of faith, hope & love."

Police have charged a 27-year-old man with threatening to kill after he allegedly threatened two Christchurch mosques.

Armed police raided two homes on Thursday after a person made a series of online threats against the Linwood and Al Noor mosques. The mosques were at the centre of the 2019 terror attack.

Māori Party co-leader Rawiri Waititi has apologised for a now-deleted tweet that referred to Caucasians as being archaic, and becoming “more extinct”.

Waititi has refused to comment on the tweet from his personal account, which he says was posted by someone else who “misunderstood” his messaging.

Simon Bridges might not have made many friends in Wellington when he accused Police Commissioner Andy Coster of being a “wokester” last month but some in the party think the issue was a winner and played into wider concerns about cancel culture.

At a meeting of about 60 National Party members, including some MPs, party pollster David Farrar, of Curia Market Research, told MPs that he saw the party winning support by taking a stand on “cancel culture” issues.
