Back to our normal time to our cafescapading around morning smoko time, but continuing getting to cafes that are not opened over the weekends. So today South Dunedin and the Black and Brew.
Name: Black and Brew
Address: 50 Prince Albert Road, St Kilda, Dunedin 9012
Website: https://www.facebook.com/black-and-brew-112230146836424/
Again because I am lazy we were luck to get a car park right out front of the cafe so not far to walk...
We looked over the range of cabinet food, it was toss-up between either cheese rolls or savoury muffins/scone and it was savoury muffin that won on the EFTPOS statement.
Black and Brew is mainly targeted for take-aways but there is limited seating available if you wish to dine in. Now because the target is mainly take-away we get the disposable cups and muffin in the paper bag which also means no melted butter oozing through my scone/muffin.

Quickly finding a table and seat we waited for our order to be ready.
It did not take long before our order was ready and picking up from the counter (again targeting mainly for take away) we returned to our seat with our order to dine.
The reason I say "scone/muffin" as we are not 100% sure which category it fell in, it was lighter than a scone but not quiet a muffin... (I tend to think scone) ... this is definitely not a bad thing because either way it was pretty damn good even with no extra gooey goodness of the melted butter. Xaria said on her Facebook page... "Very nice savoury scone/muffin"
The coffee was a little hotter than many of the other places we have been to, but was a good flat white with not too much froth.
Cost was $24.50c so reasonable. Staff were friendly and and over all the Black and Brew has a nice cafe culture and we both enjoyed our visit and snack.
The only thing I would say is since they are targeting take away and although you can dine in... there was no rubbish bin for our disposable cups and paper bags for when we were finished...
