AT RIMPAC 2016 TE KAHA tested its live firing combat capabilities. During a live firing SINKEX (Sink Exercise) TE KAHA got its turn to attack a decommissioned US ship, giving the crew a chance to launch a Sea Sparrow missile against the ship.

The School of Artillery has been out in Waiouru for Exercise Hellfire, which is designed to test the skills of our people who are on either the Young Officer course, Command Systems Sergeants course or the Targeting Bombardiers course. 16 Field Regiment, Royal New Zealand Artillery were there supporting the live fire phase of the exercise with the L119 Light Gun and the 81mm Mortar.
