House price growth has decreased for a second month running but is still well up on 2020 - and it remains unlikely that values will reduce anytime soon.

New data from Quotable Value (QV) shows the average value spiked 6.6 percent in the three months to June, compared with an 8.8 percent increase in the three months to May.

Labour MP Louisa Wall has broken ranks with her Government again, saying New Zealand will be able to declare genocide in China by the end of the year - something the Prime Minister has refused to do. 

It's hard to know what's happening in China's Xinjiang province, because the United Nations isn't allowed in. But Wall believes the human rights abuses are clear.

Amazon has opened up its Australian online store to New Zealand shoppers in a long-awaited move.

The company said the change meant Kiwis would be able to buy “millions” of products from amazon.com.au, in addition to the company’s main United States site.

Treasury is warning the Government that its debt is on an “unsustainable trajectory” over the coming 40 years thanks to an ageing population driving up superannuation and health costs.

The Government’s main economic adviser released a draft report on Monday looking at Government spending out to 2060, the first of these legally mandated reports to be released since 2016.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has distanced herself from Labour MP Louisa Wall's accusation that China is harvesting organs from political prisoners. 

Wall, who is part of a global Inter-​Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC) which monitors the actions of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), told RNZ the Government needs to do more to counter what she described as slave labour in China.
