We decided to go to Macandrew Bay's "The Duck Cafe" for the cafe there was no rhyme or reason why that was the chosen cafe of the day. For non-locals Macandrew Bay whilst in Dunedin is still 15-20 minute drive down the peninsula.
Name: The Duck Cafe
Address: 494 Portobello Road, Macandrew Bay, Dunedin 9014
So it's a nice wee drive down the harbour on a Sunday morning. Finding a park and wondering to the cafe. It was already busy with a fair few people already seated, and a small queue waiting to order. This can be some what potentially a good sign of a good cafe being popular. As we entered we saw a sign that the cafe was closing earlier than normal, because the cafe was closed for a private function which is also nice to know.
We waited in line to ordered while deciding what we wanted. This time we we ordered some cheese scones, I also had a sausage roll and Xaria also had a cinnamon pin wheel bun plus our standard coffees. While they didn't say there might be a bit of a wait, Xaria and I both expected to have a little bit of a wait. However to honest there wasn't really any more of a wait than any other cafe. So the staff were handling the busy time well.
As stated our coffee's came comparatively quickly and scones and sausage roll to to long after. The scones were good and I enjoyed, and sausage roll was okay and had a nice sweet and mildly spicy sauce and of average size but not as large as some of the other cafes sausage rolls. However the over all the price was pretty good.

Xaria said she also enjoyed her cinnamon pin wheel bun and we both enjoyed our coffees for our taste.
The staff and service were okay and as stated the cafe was busy, and they have indoor and out door seating with a great view looking down the harbour which makes for a nice cafe experience. Prices were overall reasonable. However Xaria did mention that there wasn't or couldn't se any cheese rolls. Which in the South Island that is like a staple part of a cafe experience a good cheese roll. But to be honest and fair we didn't ask the staff when we were ordering so there could have been... we just didn't see any in the cabinet.
Overall a good cafe experience.
Adding to the over all day we continued down the peninsula to the Royal Albatross Centre for a nice drive... our excuse... we needed to turn around.
