Since we have had the deck installed and nearly, but not quite finished we have had meals and had a few quiet ones out on the deck, most of the time it has been very pleasant. Today however I will have to say while we had great friends and company it was getting uncomfortably hot just sitting out the in that heat... I mean way too hot. It is a bit of a sun trap.
As for the bar, it was cooler under there, but I think we need to get some shading up. We have a few options for this, from a gazebo, a deck sail, or pull out awning. Undecided which way to go... what are your thoughts?
The update on the bar is I have started to put a ceiling in and that is just H3 treated ply so if any water does get through my stage one draining system and the lino on the upper deck, then it is not going to damage anything as it is just plied and treated at that. Overall I am happy and confident enough now to actually leave tools out and under it in the rain knowing they are pretty safe. It has been interesting doing this ceiling and has made me use my ole' noggin on a few occasions. Whilst the upper deck is only (about) 15 years old one would have thought it would have been built pretty straight and true... BUZZ wrong.
You could not be further from the truth. So when I cut the ply I only measured one spot... 2195mm cut it square and put up say what huge gaps... any way nothing bedding can not cover. But still !!?!
I have to work out a few other things and we will be all go. We have looked and second-hand french doors and or a ranch slider.. the idea of french doors is cool but even second-hand ones are not cheap. may end up making my own.
Xaria has done a few things in the garden and I hope to get her using this blog more... but I need to sit with her and do a few techie things.
I haven't done much in the actual workshop for a while the last thing was the 21 Scissors I have a few projects to do, from a set of cupboards and shelves as well as finishing the bar off.
Anyway will catch up later on
