Donald Trump's war of words with Elon Musk has continued with the former US President saying he could have made the Tesla owner "drop to his knees".
The two have been feuding since the former President called Musk "another bull**** artist" at his Alaska rally over the weekend.
Musk responded to Trump on Monday, saying he should end his political career.
"I don't hate the man, but it's time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset," Musk wrote on Twitter.
"Dems should also call off the attack--don't make it so that Trump's only way to survive is to regain the Presidency."
Trump has now hit back by saying he could've made Musk "drop to his knees".
"When Elon Musk came to the White House asking me for help on all of his many subsidised projects, whether it's electric cars that don't drive long enough, driverless cars that crash, or rocketships to nowhere, without which subsidies he'd be worthless," Trump wrote on his platform Truth Social. "Telling me how he was a big Trump fan and Republican, I could have said, 'drop to your knees and beg,' and he would have done it."
It comes after Twitter filed a lawsuit against Musk for violating his contract to buy the social media platform for US$44 billion.
The billionaire agreed to buy the company in April, but shortly afterwards indicated that the number of bot accounts he felt was being understated by the company was a major issue.
Trump seemed to be enjoying the ongoing battle Musk is having with Twitter, while also having a sly dig at the social media company.
"Now Elon should focus on getting himself out of the Twitter mess because he could owe $44 billion for something that's perhaps worthless. Also, lots of competition for electric cars!" Trump wrote.
