Auckland parents say fears over the measles outbreak have caused them to change their day-to-day habits.
There have been 778 cases confirmed in Auckland region as of Saturday, with 19 new diagnoses since Friday, the Auckland Regional Public Health Service said.
Auckland mother and social media influencer Mandy Duncan has decided to get her nearly nine-month-old vaccinated against measles.
Stuff spoke to some mothers who said they were avoiding public spaces or, in some cases, deciding to keep their young babies permanently at home.
One mum said she would pick an outside table, rather than enter a restaurant, and has ruled out air travel.
Teddy is too young to be vaccinated, therefore leaving the house and going to public places leaves him at risk of contracting measles.

Hutchison who has a social media following of nearly 30,000 on Instagram has been using the platform in an attempt to educate other mothers.
She posted a picture sitting outside a cafe because she was too scared to take Teddy inside.
"I believe we're not taking this seriously enough because someone's not dead," she told Stuff.
She had also shared information about vaccinations on her Instagram stories.
Auckland mother Meg Hutchison had to sit outside a cafe as she was too scared to take her newborn inside.
"I had more than 200 messages from mothers of 6 to 12 months old who didn't know they could go get their babies immunised," she said.
"I'm using my platform to help protect the lives of others," she said.
Auckland GPs will now vaccinate babies as young as six months old for MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) in an attempt to protect the "most vulnerable" from the outbreak gripping the region.
Hutchison's husband works away from home a lot of the time, making it even trickier for the pair.
"I don't have any childcare and would have no way of getting something from the supermarket," she said.
Originally from England, Hutchison has no family support in Auckland and is too afraid to go to the airport to see family friends in Christchurch.
"It's a luxury that I'm able to stay at home, but that's not the reality for a lot of mothers."
Social media influencer and small business owner, Mandy Duncan, is a mother of three, including to nine-month-old Oakly.
Duncan took to Instagram last week talking about the importance of getting vaccinated.
