A vegan night market will be held for the first time in Christchurch on Saturday.
About 10 stall-holders will be at the 100 per cent plant-based Vegan Night Mākete at the Phillipstown Community Hub from 5-8pm.
The market will be hosted by the Christchurch Vegan Society, which also held the Vegan Expo at Horncastle Arena last year.
The market aims to raise awareness about the environmental, animal welfare and health benefits of veganism.

Stall-holders at the inaugural event will include Yummy Treats, a Spanish-fusion food truck, Whiteheart, of Tai Tapu, Transylvanian Delights and Upbeet Kai.
The market will use reusable cutlery and ensure any plates or cups given out by stall-holders are plastic-free and biodegradable.
