Being ex Navy I served 6 or 7 years (counts fingers) I was on active duty every time the ship sailed, however the closet I came to what is called active oprational duty in the eyes of the government was the Fiji Coup back in 1987.  So in the eyes of the government no I am not a veteran.

Even when the DCP2019 came out it was a start but not enough to make a recovery.
