Social media users have attacked Jacinda Ardern during a Facebook Live over the Government's latest housing announcement, saying the new plans won't help renters.

On Tuesday, it was announced that the Government would crack down on property investors to help first-home buyers get a foot in the door by assisting with deposits and expanding the property investment tax. As part of the plan, the Government decided to offset tax deduction losses on rental property mortgage interest rates.

When the Sun ejects solar particles into space, how does this affect the Earth and climate? Are clouds affected by these particles?

When we consider the Sun’s influence on Earth and our climate, we tend to think about solar radiation. We are acutely aware of the skin-burning dangers of ultraviolet, or UV, radiation.

As New Zealanders prepared to vote last year for who they thought should form the next Government, potential threats to the integrity of October's general election were being intercepted.

Newshub can reveal the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) identified and responded to "fewer than 10" leads relating to the general election, which had been postponed due to COVID-19.

By 2025, you won’t be able to hook up your house or building to the natural gas network, if the Government follows draft advice from the Climate Change Commission. Despite being just one of more than 100 recommendations, it caught a lot of attention. Mike Hosking called it “stupid”. Chef Martin Bosley said it would open “the most unbelievable can of worms” for cafes and restaurants.

The commission’s draft advice will be finalised in May, then the Government must decide whether it wants to adopt it.
