This is the sixth instalment in a series of articles in which I have discussed options for the regeneration of naval capability in light of the reality that every ship in the current fleet (with the exception of HMNZS Aotearoa) reaches the end of its forecast life in the early to mid-2030s. This article re-examines the thinking embodied in those earlier articles in the light of the updated policy settings outlined in the Defence Policy and Strategic Statement 2023 and the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) Future Force Design Principles 2023.

- Article: https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/lifestyle/2023/09/kiwi-furious-after-being-barred-from-perth-pub-for-having-m-ori-facial-moko.html

- Note from Nighthawk.NZ:
I am going to a bit of hate for this... since this is in Australia, stop trying to pushing your culture on them... It is only in New Zealand that the moko is slowly being excepted... If you were in Japan you probably couldn't go anywhere because tattoo's in general let alone a moko.
Just remember it is your culture, not theirs and you are in their country. Also right of refusual of entry to the establishment.
Their bar/establishment their rules, their country their rules... if it says no facial tattoos it means no facial tattoos. No if's no buts... and if you don't like it go somewhere else.
It was your choice to get it... and props to yah for doing but don't expect the rest of the world to get the culture meaning of it. You should of checked the website before hand... and in future check and ask before."I'm a law-abiding ex-veteran with no criminal history at all... and you shouldn't judge a book by its cover."
It's not about judge a book by it's cover and as a veteran you should know... it's about abiding by the rules... and the rules were No Facial tattoos.
That being said if that happened in NZ where the Moko is accepted than there is an issue, but their are other issues that can go with it as well.
