Update – 12 April, 2020: New Zealand's COVID-19 death toll remains at four, with no more reported on Sunday.

Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield also revealed there are 18 more cases of the deadly disease in New Zealand, bringing the total to 1330.

There's been both cautious optimism and tragedy in New Zealand this week, as while the daily number of COVID-19 cases is falling, three new deaths have also been recorded. 

As of Saturday afternoon, New Zealand has reported 1312 cases of SARS-CoV-2, the infectious coronavirus which causes the COVID-19 respiratory illness, up 362 on last Saturday.

South Korean officials have announced 91 patients who were thought to have recovered from COVID-19 have re-tested positive.

Jeong Eun-kyeong, the director of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC), says the virus appears to have been "reactivated" rather than the patients being reinfected, Reuters reported.

The Indonesian volcano Krakatoa, also known as Krakatau, has reportedly erupted.

Reports say it sent a plume of ash several kilometres into the air, with a boom that could be heard from far away.
