North Korea fired a hypersonic ballistic missile this week that successfully hit a target, state news agency KCNA reported on Thursday (local time), its second such test as the country pursues new military capabilities amid stalled denuclearisation talks.

The launch on Wednesday (local time) was the first by North Korea since October and was detected by several militaries in the region, drawing criticism from governments in the United States, South Korea and Japan.

Another new variant of COVID-19 with dozens of mutations has been discovered, this time in France.

IHU, as it's been dubbed, has the N501Y mutation also found in the Alpha, Beta, Omicron and Gamma variants, which makes it more infectious, and the E484K mutation found in Gamma and Beta, which helps the virus evade people's immunity., as well as numerous other changes.
