Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that he had told his foreign ministry to expel the ambassadors of the United States and nine other Western countries for demanding the release of philanthropist Osman Kavala.

Seven of the ambassadors represent Turkey's NATO allies and the expulsions, if carried out, would open the deepest rift with the West in Erdogan's 19 years in power.

New Zealand has opened the door to joining the Aukus defence pact with Australia, Britain and the United States while maintaining its ban on nuclear-powered submarines.

The country’s top diplomat in Canberra said New Zealand could join the agreement to collaborate on the development of emerging cyber technologies including artificial intelligence quantum computing.

Note from Nighthawk.NZ:

While yes I would like NZ to part of AUKUS  (I am not anti Nuclear power...) to be part of the security on the quantum computing and cyber technologies etc... issue is it is an all in or all out.  You can't pick and choose...

If NZ really wants to get in on the game of "Quantum Computing" and "Cyber Defenses" etc... we would better off to (and would be easier to) start a new collective group and call it "Behind the 8 ball". Basically forget about AUKUS. Since in general it is all based around the nuclear submarine program.

Make this new collective around Cyber Security, Quantum Computing, other sciences and technologies in the field... ie; communications... so throw in Space ie; Rocket Lab, Dawn Aerospace, and a few other aerospace company's for good measure.

Those working on the frontline treating the majority of south Auckland's COVID-19 cases say they are in a race against time before more lives are lost to the virus.

Note from Nighthawk.NZ:

You can yell and scream and warn people as much as you like, but if they don't want to get vacinated for what ever reason there is not a lot you can do about it. And yes these same people are the ones that will get the virus and spread it to others  and complain. As for low Maori numbers... again they have been told they have had the same chance as every other person in the country.

South Korea became the latest nation to express interest in joining an Asia-Pacific trade deal, with the trade minister saying the government is “seriously and actively considering” the issue.

Korea’s overture comes after China and Taiwan submitted formal requests in recent weeks to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership, or CPTPP, a free-trade pact between 11 countries around the Pacific Rim.
