The training comes after the NZDF received US funding to set up a non-classified satellite monitoring hub in Auckland last year.

Bohemia Interactive Australia (BIA) announced it has been awarded a contract by the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) for an upgrade to VBS4, a virtual desktop simulation for collective tactical and mission rehearsal with support for over 100 training use cases. The award also includes an enterprise-wide licence and supplementary development by BIA to ultimately deliver a customised simulation to the NZDF.

This is not sending a good message for the state of the NZDF in general with the Government saying they need to increase defence spending but the actual spending they're prepared to make on the basics of living conditions very disappointing and not giving me a lot of confidence on the government spending on on defence to say the least.
