Here is one I kinda knew about... I say kinda as I have seen it in passing but not actually put two and two together that it is an actual cafe... how silly of me.
Name: The Food Room & Co.
Address: 223A Main South Road, Green Island, Dunedin 9018

From our place to Green Island is just over the hill on the motorway going south, about a 5 minute drive so does not take long at all. Finding a park we though could be interesting however luck would have it a park was right out front... door to door service.
There were a few people there and people coming and going with takeaways. They had a pretty good range of food in the cabinet from scones, cheese rolls and various other savory's, to sweets slices and deserts etc. Now I had eat like a half a bag of scroggin so I was not overly hungry so a cheese roll and coffee, while Xaria ordered a bacon and Egg scone which was something really different as well as her coffee. This came to $23.00 which is about average in price.
They had plenty of seating inside, however I noticed a back door that was opened so I wandered over and had a look through because I am nosy, and hello a small back deck area with seating over looking the Kaikorai Stream with a couple of ducks swimming being ducks and doing what ducks do... quack... So that is where we decided we would sit as there was a break in the weather... It was a nice change of pace.

It didn't take long for our coffees to arrive and not long after that for the bacon and egg scone and cheese roll. Xaria really enjoyed her scone... and said what go back to have. The cheese rolls was pretty darn good as well.
The service was good and friendly and on our way out Xaria asked about the other flavoured scones vegetarian and cream cheese which sounded just as nice to be fair... The price as I said above was about average so no complaints there. The Food Room & Co. had that cafe feel to it whether sitting out the back or inside and would meet up with friends here for a coffee and bit to eat as well as for a chin wag.
Over all we enjoyed our visit...
