Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has confirmed a high-level government delegation from China will be in Honiara later this week.
Mr Sogavare announced this during his weekly national address, putting an end to speculation about the Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi's visit to Honiara and the region.
Mr Wang is expected to lead a large delegation from Beijing and the two countries are likely to sign a host of new agreements, including the controversial security pact.
