Two people have been taken to hospital this evening after an alleged assault on Castle St, in Dunedin.
St John's and police were called to the scene about 5.30pm.
A police spokesperson wouldn't comment on how many people were involved in the incident.
One person has been taken into custody, but police are remaining in the area to manage the situation.
