The Defence Minister is travelling to Fiji and Australia tomorrow for bilateral visits with his counterparts in the Pacific.
Peeni Henare is set to meet his defence counterparts, attend remembrance ceremonies and tour military camps during the five-day trip.
Henare says the aim of the trip is to increase collaboration among New Zealand's key defence partners in the Pacific.
He says it's important Australia, as New Zealand's only formal ally, is included in his first overseas trip and he will explore business opportunities in the defence sector there.
The minister will depart from Auckland Airport tomorrow and is expected to arrive back next Friday.
