Newshub is running a breaking news special on the latest devolpments with the coronavirus outbreak in New Zealand. 

The  Director-General of the Ministry of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield  updated New Zealanders osaying there are now 53 cases in the country. 

This follows news yesterday there are 39 cases of the illness, all of which are connected to international travel and so far there has been no community transmission. 

This will be followed by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern addressing the nation at midday.
