Wellington Railway Station has been evacuated after a "possible threat".
A police spokeswoman said officers were called to the scene at about 10.40am on Monday.
Outside the station, evacuated people said there was a bomb scare.
On Twitter, Metlink Wellington said the 11am service from Johnsonville to Wellington would be held outside until clearance has been given to arrive on the platform.
The 11.32am Wellington to Johnsonville service and the 12pm Johnsonville to Wellington service had been replaced by bus due to "a police emergency".
Johnsonville is the only train line operating today, with bus replacements already in place for the Kāpiti, Hutt and Wairarapa lines due to scheduled maintenance.
Metlink spokeswoman Emily Liddell said the evacuation had a "minimal effect" on train services.
Earlier in the month, all trains were suspended and the Wellington Railway Station was evacuated after a bomb threat.
This followed multiple bomb threats being made at various places around the city.
