On Friday, police, NZTA and the Wellington City Council all said they were aware of the plan.
A spokesman said the council would work with the regional council and NZTA, and police who would lead the city-wide response.
"We don't know how large the protest will be nor the expected level of disruption, but as always public safety remains our number one priority."
Parliament security also warned all working in the buildings of the planned protests in an email that said the action was "likely to include blockades of major roads, bridges and transport links".
