A Marlborough teacher who was jailed for having sex with two students aged under 16 has abandoned her bid to keep her name secret.

Jamiee Marie Cooney admitted at the Blenheim District Court in October seven charges of sexual relations with minors and two charges of sending sexual material to minors.

National Party leader Simon Bridges believes it's "concerning" the China consul general made comments about the Government's decision to bar foreigners travelling from China for fear of spreading the coronavirus.

The Government announced on Sunday that any foreign travellers who leave or transit through China will be refused entry to New Zealand.

Thousands of BNZ customers will need to change their automated payments after the bank decided to cancel its Mastercard bank cards ahead of their usual expiry date and replace them with Visa cards.

The bank has written to a first tranche of Advantage Classic Mastercard customers giving them six weeks' notice that their Mastercard credit cards will stop working on March 12.

Opposition leader Simon Bridges says he was forced to publicly come out and say he won't work with Winston Peters because the New Zealand First leader can't be trusted.

A health expert says the Government's ban on travellers arriving in New Zealand from China is the right thing to do.

The Government has revealed how New Zealanders returning from Wuhan will be quarantined to stop them from spreading the coronavirus.

An Air New Zealand charter flight is being organised to evacuate dozens of New Zealanders, Pacific Islanders and Australian citizens, Minister of Health David Clark announced on Sunday.
