A South Korean citizen who tested positive for Covid-19 after travelling from New Zealand spent more than 14 hours in an airport transit lounge.
Health authorities in South Korea believe the person was likely infected during transit at Singapore’s Changi Airport after leaving Christchurch on July 21, according to the Ministry of Health.

Is the long China-New Zealand honeymoon finally drawing to a close?
New Zealand has for a long time benefited from a close relationship with China. Throughout the last decade the two countries have phased in the provisions of a free trade deal agreed to in 2008. China is now and has been for some time New Zealand’s second largest trading partner after only Australia. Exports of dairy produce, growing Chinese tourist numbers, and bolstered numbers of foreign students are all to New Zealand’s benefit.

The New Zealand Government has suspended its extradition treaty with Hong Kong and made a number of other changes in light of China's decision to pass a national security law for Hong Kong.
Foreign Affairs Minister Winston Peters said on Tuesday China's passing of the legislation has "eroded rule-of-law principles" and "undermined the 'one country, two systems' framework" that underpins Hong Kong's unique status.
