Foreign Affairs Minister Nanaia Mahuta and her Australian counterpart Marise Payne have released a joint statement saying they are "deeply concerned" about China making "significant" changes to Hong Kong's electoral system.

The Chinese National People's Congress on Thursday voted near-unanimously to make several changes to Hong Kong's electoral system which critics say undermine the autonomy promised to the territory in 1997 when it was transferred from Britain to China under the 'one country, two systems' model.

It's that time of the year when it seems like there is a public holiday every second week. And while that's great news for Monday to Friday workers, the feeling isn't as sweet for some shift workers missing out on several public holidays every year.

One man who works Tuesday to Saturday in finance says he has missed around 10 holidays, since he started working at his company full time three years ago.

A Muslim community leader has slammed the "paltry" amount of money being allocated to the Government's efforts to help those still suffering from the effects of the Christchurch terror attack.

Fifty-one people died when a gunman opened fire at two mosques on March 15, 2019. An event marking the anniversary will be held Saturday afternoon - the first after last year's planned commemoration was cancelled as the COVID-19 threat arrived on our shores.

Be bloody thankful the government offered that... anywhere else in the world you would have got nothing. We are also in a pandemic and the GDP is down... technically they the government don't need to even give this... so be thankful. You should be seeking it from the Australian government since he was an Australian.

Vanessa Hensley and her partner Aaron Saini went to order dinner at a KFC in Exeter on Saturday. She was hoping to treat their household to a family bargain bucket and a vegetarian burger as she is a pescatarian.

The Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) will be bringing Exercise Skytrain to Wanaka and the surrounding regions from 15 – 26 March 2021.

Exercise Skytrain is a C-130 Hercules training activity used by No. 40 Squadron to consolidate skills learnt at Base Auckland. The exercise provides crews with a range of flying training including over unfamiliar and challenging terrain, coordinating pallet drops into drop zones and landing the aircraft on runways different to those in Auckland.
