Any talk of a cooling housing market is premature, if the latest real estate sales data is anything to go by - with just one in 100 residential properties failing to make a profit in the first quarter of the year.
Property database CoreLogic on Tuesday released its Pain and Gain report for January-March 2021, in which it revealed profit-making residential property resales had reached 98.9 percent - the highest peak in the 25 years this data set has been recorded.

The Government intends to rewrite the Defence Force’s priorities, as the defence minister signals a possible move away planned billion-dollar investments in ships and aeroplanes.
The Defence Force received $5 million in new spending in Budget 2021, announced by the Government on Thursday. Former United Future leader Peter Dunne says it's "ironic" Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has been referencing the 1991 'Mother of all Budgets' this week - given she would have been 11 years old at the time.
On Thursday, the Government announced its Budget - with a key feature being a major boost to benefits. Ardern said Budget 2021 was about reversing cuts to benefits made in 1991 under National Party Finance Minister Ruth Richardson and Prime Minister Jim Bolger - a Budget nicknamed the 'Mother of all Budgets.'
