Today we decided to go to the Otago Early Settlers Museum Cafe, because we had tried in the past and it was closed. The Museum itself was open just not the cafe, but to be fair it was a public holiday. So we said lets go there...
The cafe is in foyer of the main entrance to the settlers museum of Otago. Of course like any museum no food or drinks allowed in the actual museum.
The cafe itself was clean and was big wide open space with ample seating and in these current times they can space them out a bit for social distancing.
They didn't have any cheese rolls or sausage rolls for that matter, and were any plans of putting any on... which if they were already made how long does it take to heat the up and serve and if you customer wants them??? ... Anyhow Xaria had a savory scone while I had a date scone with our coffees. The staff were friendly enough and our coffees and heated scones came quickly enough. The scones we nice but probably could have be heated for that fraction longer to ensure the butter melts in to the scone.... mmmmmm. Also with my date scone I had strawberry jam to go with it so it became even sweeter and since my lifestyle diet change... I did find it sweet. but that is just me and not a bad thing, as it is suppose to be sweet. So far so good I don't have covid I still have my sense of taste.

The coffee's standard flat white and a soy flat white weren't to far behind. And this is where what ever I say past this point is all personal preference. for my taste it wasn't a bad coffee, certainly not an "Oh god you have to try this coffee" coffee, was served at drinkable temperature and not too much froth which make it a cappuccino.
Are we going to put a rating or a score on the various cafes we visit. I personally don't think it is needed. I will tell you how it is. If we get bad service or what ever. But on average the cafe culture isn't that bad. I am sure we may get a bad experience in the near future the more we go to these cafes... but currently we have not had a notable bad experience.
