The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) is helping the United States to train the Japanese military to monitor satellites.

The training comes after the NZDF received US funding to set up a non-classified satellite monitoring hub in Auckland last year.

Bohemia Interactive Australia (BIA) announced it has been awarded a contract by the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) for an upgrade to VBS4, a virtual desktop simulation for collective tactical and mission rehearsal with support for over 100 training use cases. The award also includes an enterprise-wide licence and supplementary development by BIA to ultimately deliver a customised simulation to the NZDF.

A new era of tactical airlift capability for New Zealand has officially begun with Lockheed Martin delivering the first of five C-130J Super Hercules tactical airlifters to the New Zealand Ministry of Defence and New Zealand Defence Force during a ceremony at the Lockheed Martin’s facility in Marietta, Georgia on 8 August.
