With the scaffolding gone, HMNZS TE KAHA reveals her new superstructure to workers in Victoria Shipyard in Esquimalt. TE KAHA, sitting beside HMNZS TE MANA, departed New Zealand on 9 February 2018, as the first of the two frigates to start her Frigate System Upgrade in Canada.
The new fore and aft masts boast new radars, electronic detection equipment, a laser warning system and an aircraft identification system. The work is similar to frigate upgrades in Canada, Australia and the UK.
