Police are continuing to hunt for a motorist who allegedly pulled a gun on officers, and another member of the public in Manawatū.
Police pulled a vehicle over in Feilding at 11am on Sunday, and the driver pulled out a firearm, a police media spokesman said.
The motorist fled, and the Armed Offenders Squad was called in to support police with inquiries.
Palmerston North area investigations manager detective senior sergeant Craig Sheridan said the driver also allegedly presented a firearm at a motorist in Feilding before stealing that person's vehicle.
The motorist, who was not physically injured, was very shaken and officers were providing support.
The motorist’s vehicle had not been found. It was a silver-coloured Holden Commodore sedan with registration number DTE593.
