The Ministry of Health on Saturday reported one new case of coronavirus in New Zealand, picked up at a managed isolation facility.

No new cases have been found in the community.

The new case arrived in New Zealand on October 1, on a flight from England via Hong Kong. They are now in a quarantine facility in Auckland.

The total number of cases in New Zealand to date is 1493. There are now 41 active cases, with three more recovered. Thirty-three are from managed isolation facilities, eight in the community.

The Ministry of Health also said there would be measures in place at voting booths, which open today, to protect voters against the virus.

"If you’re planning to vote in person, there is a range of measures in place to keep you and those around you safe from COVID-19. There are easy steps you can take, too."

The death toll here remains at 25.
