Turkey's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday summoned the ambassadors of the United States, New Zealand and eight other countries to protest a statement they issued that called for the release of imprisoned philanthropist and civil rights activist Osman Kavala in line with a European Court of Human Rights decision.

The statement angered government officials who accused the countries of meddling in the Turkish judiciary.

An Auckland real estate agent has apologised for an "unacceptable" post where he offered unvaccinated Kiwis discounted rates.

Tim Webb, who markets himself as an Agent of Change, posted to his Facebook page on Thursday that as a "formal protest" he was going to increase his usual 2 percent fee to 4 percent for clients who have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Well how would he know unless he asks and you give an answer? As you don't have to answer that question whether you are vaccinated or not. He then says well I will no sell your house... you say ok I will get another "Real Estate Agent" he just shot himself in the foot. You can choose any Real Estate Agent you wish. he puts up his commission you simply choose another agent and fire his arse. Again shot himself in the foot. He asks if you are vaccinated... you ask for another agent or go to another company. Again shot himself in the foot. he is the one loosing out not you as the seller or buyer.

Remember by law you don't even need to go through a real estate agent. By law you don't have to give personal details like this if you don't wish to.

Real Estate Agents are amongst the least trusted people on the planet as it is... and now you just made it worse.

The Government doesn't have a concrete plan to move Auckland on from COVID-19 lockdowns and is "providing no hope for Aucklanders", the Opposition claims.

On Monday, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced Auckland would remain in COVID-19 alert level 3 for at least another two weeks. She told the 4pm press conference the Government would reveal a vaccination target for when restrictions could ease, but not until Friday.

Colin Powell, the first Black US secretary of state and top military officer, died on Monday at the age of 84 due to complications from COVID-19. He was fully vaccinated, his family said in a statement on Facebook.

"We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American," his family said, thanking the staff of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington who treated Powell, but providing few details about his illness.

Some of the comments:
Haywood J. Blomi Says: For a country of 0.06% of the world pop and a gdp of only 0.16% why are we putting in 1.3% of this 'plucked from the air' $100b. Someones wallet just got fatter. The plumbing here got numbered at $180b to fix.  Could've got some of that fixed.

George says: Fantastic news - I am pleased to see this happening because it tells me clearly that there are no housing/education/health/child poverty issues in New Zealand.

South guy 2 says; That's right, more debt!! And what makes it worse, it's for a cause that doesn't exist!!

Dike says; more good money after bad & a typical labour move to just shovel money at a problem & hope it goes away... you can bet there will be no accountability for spending...

tontoe says; Whose money?. And will someone tell James Shaw he better be rowing to Glasgow or using Skype because jumping on an airliner is so last century to attend a meeting and reeks of privilege and do as I say not as I do

I am all for saving the environment, but there is a limit and things need to be put into perspective. We have a housing issue, covid debt, health & education issues and government admits child poverty issues in New Zealand so where is the money for these issues. yet you can pull $1.3b out of your arse to give to other countries that are so called poorer. What countries are they for a start, and is it a loan? How is that money going to be spent?
