Continuing the theme of; I know we have been there but we cannot find it on the cafescapades page and there is road works, so we decided to go to Modacks.

Name: Modacks Espresso
Address: 337-339 George Street, Central Dunedin, Dunedin 9016
Website: https://www.modaksespresso.com

While it makes parking even harder than normal, the cafes in the area with roadworks are undoubtably doing it hard so it is nice to support them.

A Dunedin institution for many years, a funky/shabby setting with old school laminate furniture and a range of eclectic artworks on the wall.

Nice service at the counter, went for the traditional two flat whites, two savoury scrolls and Nighthawk saw Belgium slice and had to add that to the order.

While the coffee was a little strong for my taste, it was perfect for Nighthawk. The savoury scrolls were very tasty with a decent amount of filling (including a glob of cream cheese in the middle) with a chilli sauce over the top, served warm with butter.

The Belgium slice was nice and it looked like all the slices in the cabinet were gluten and dairy free.

The café looked like it had a wide range of dietary options available. Had a café feel to it and would (and have) met up with friends for a coffee and will again.
