Walking the dog earlier in the day getting some awesome sunrise photo's down John Wilson Drive discussing what cafe we shall go to today. Zoo Cafe came up again, our second attemp at visiting.

Morning Sunrise while walking Rimu (Our Jack Russell Dog)

Name: Zoo Cafe
Address: 24 Esplanade, St Clair, Dunedin 9012
Website: https://www.facebook.com/Dunedin-Zoo-Cafe-110871056973096/

So on our way home we quickly swung by to see if they were going to be open and according to the sign on the door open from 9am.  We are putting it down to covid and staffing issues that it wasn't open last week and to be absolutely fair we have seen a few smaller cafes in town with signs on their door saying the are closed due to covid and staffing issues.

Drizzly day...

The morning had turned and now it was drizzle rain and not what it was this morning walking the pup...

The Zoo Cafe is a feeling of a mix between a cafe, the milk bar and corner dairy although more focused on the cafe, having the radio or music in the background gave the definite cafe feel. The decor had a modern look yet rustic feel with the tables  having veneer wooden rustic with wooden chairs look on them. Being called the Zoo Cafe they had a few stuffed animals here and there from giraffe or two to a zebra and panda etc (A nice wee touch)

The Zoo Cafe

They had a range of muffins and cafes available in the cabinet, however Xaria noticed the cheese rolls on the menu, and we ordered two each. one plain cheese roll and one with onion both with wholemeal bread... basically our cheese rolls were made to order. We all cot our standard coffees.

Finding a seat by the window we watched the world go by with the view of the ocean and people walking their dogs and just generally going about their lives.

Cheese rolls made to order.

Our coffees came first and considering our cheese rolls were made to order over all it did not take long. Cheese roll has that gooey goodness in the middle and be honest who doesn't like the gooey goodness.

Price this time only cost $22.60 which was reasonable. The staff were friendly and a relaxed nature, definitely part of the Cafe Culture and we are glade we gave it a second go to  visit.  We enjoyed our Cafescapade experience at the Zoo Cafe.
