Due to enter service in couple of years. Back in July 2018, the New Zealand government announced the purchase of four P-8As, to begin operations in 2023. Four P-8As were ordered in March 2019, completion is expected by June 2020. This purchase also meant that the main base of operations had to move from Hobsinville/Whenuapui Air Base to Ohakea Air Base, and even then infrastructure has to be built to accommodate the new aircraft.

So here are a couple of photos of the construction happening at the RNZAF Base Ohakea with all the new construction and infrastructure being being built for the P-8 Poseidon's.

The new Construction as seen on Google Maps. (at the time of this article)

For those that are confused and have lost their bearings the old hangers and part of the base is still there on the other side of the air base. You can see them in the image from Google Maps
