As Jacinda Ardern continues to use COVID 19 to try to win re-election she isn't letting the facts ruin her dream run with NZ media.
In an interview earlier this week the New Zealand Prime Minister continued to misrepresent the truth when questioned over COVID 19.

In the interview, Ardern praised her governments 'go hard go early' approach to dealing with the coronavirus even though that was completely untrue.

As travellers infected with COVID 19 started walking across our border at the end of February, start of March, media and the public were calling for NZ's border to be closed while Jacinda Ardern was telling us NZ had nothing to worry about.

A petition signed by over 3,000 doctors and health workers calling for an immediate lockdown along with two online petitions with a total of over 150,000 signatures was required before Jacinda finally shut our border.

She didn't act until the 24th of March.

Ardern then went on to say, "there was a huge degree to which we were stepping into the unknown and also the pace of decision making."

By the end of February, China and South Korea were both showing the rest of the world how to deal with COVID 19. Many countries in Asia, including Hong Kong and Taiwan, had pandemic plans in place for the likelihood of a coronavirus. The NZ government had nothing. No plans, no idea. Weeks before NZ closed the border Italy had been telling the world to 'go hard' and lockdown. Ardern adopted the phrase and did lockdown but only after receiving the letter from the medical community.
Adding to her incompetence Ardern told media she had been speaking to her friends in Australia, Canada and Sweden! Australia was more unprepared than we were. Sweden was going for herd immunity. Why didn't Ardern call the World Health Organisation who are experts in epidemics and pandemics? Or why hadn't she spoken to South Korea or China ( who fund her Labour Party) both had detailed plans on dealing with Pandemics?

After 150 cases of COVID 19 had entered NZ the coalition still had no testing at any of our airports.

One day before NZ went to level 4 lockdown there were a further 4 positive cases that came through our airports with no quarantine facilities for them.

400 cases of COVID-19 arrived into NZ before anything was done to stem the flow. These people were told to self-isolate, even after the WHO had told countries that self-isolation didn't work.

At one stage Ardern told media that although she was aware of people coming to NZ with COVID 19 she didn't want to isolate them until she had the 'proper' facilities for them. So why didn't she shut the border till she was ready?

But the greatest concern for NZ long term - which has the ability to cause far more damage than COVID 19, is the 20 billion-dollar debt Ardern has buried NZ under. ( that number has now -October 2020, been updated to 50 billion)
To quote her '' it was the early decisions about finding the right balance between health and safety, and the economic cost to New Zealand. If we didn't make the right decision the "ramifications were huge".

How Jacinda Ardern does not understand that borrowing 20 billion dollars (it is the most ever borrowed by one party in NZ history) is 'huge' shows how little she understands about what she is doing.

It is one of the most destructive acts by any New Zealand government ever.

Because of COVID 19 there is a need to offer support to those who have lost employment but the debt must be borrowed and managed with great caution due to New Zealand's current financial position. ( total debt in NZ now exceeds a record half Trillion dollars).

Ardern has used COVID 19 as an opportunity to offer taxpayer funding to the horseracing industry! along with all sorts of handouts the Coalition has dreamt up. It is a lolly scramble at a time that needs great restraint.

New Zealand's single largest foreign exchange earner, Tourism, is in tatters and the medium-term outlook is penurious.
Ardern has no idea how taxpayers will service the debt she is borrowing. But worse, she has no idea of the implications so much debt will impose on our welfare system and economy.

For anyone who understands New Zealand's financial position, Jacinda Ardern's simplistic and offhand attitude to borrowing shows how incredibly dangerous she is for New Zealand and what a 'huge' threat she is to our welfare system.
