One new case of COVID-19 has been found in the community, the Ministry of Health reported on Saturday afternoon, and one in managed isolation.

The source of the community case is unknown at this stage, still under investigation. All the close contacts have been identified, isolated and tested.

No details were given on the case discovered in managed isolation.

"There are 50 people linked to the community cluster who remain in the Auckland quarantine facility, which includes 20 people who have tested positive for COVID-19 and their household contacts," the ministry said in a statement.

"Four people are in hospital with COVID-19 - one each at Auckland City and North Shore hospitals and two in Middlemore. All four patients are in isolation on a general ward."

Five more people have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of active cases to 67 - split between community (33) and isolation (34).

The total number of cases confirmed in New Zealand since the arrival of the virus on our shores in February is 1460.
